MOSAIC T-Shirts (July 2-22)

MOSAIC Fundraiser

Hello friends, it’s Doc, asking you to consider giving a donation or buying at t-shirt to keep manofsteelanswers.com up and the MOSAIC podcast going.  Your contributions are greatly appreciated.  If you’d like a shirt, they’re available from July 2 to 22.  (International orders are OK!)

Buy MOSAIC Shield T-Shirt: bonfire.com/mosaic
Or Directly Donate: via PayPal

The purpose is to cover costs. After 5 years, it’s time to renew hosting and the fundraiser will determine what package and terms I can commit to.

I use libraries, free software, and budget hardware. I lost video editing software license with a machine crash, but haven’t replaced it. Other things add up like storage, research materials, time, etc. However, this fundraiser is solely for hosting.

I appreciate any help you can give.  Thank you!

64 – Commitment

coverblack[Recorded June 29, 2019] Consider Man of Steel and BvS through the lens of commitment. Can Superman combat loneliness and a crisis of conviction?

Donate or MOSAIC T-Shirt

Dive deep into discussion and address apologetics for:

  1. MOS is structured wrong
  2. BvS should have shown Superman’s honeymoon period
  3. Superhero movies should be escapist
  4. Nairomi was entirely unneeded
  5. and so much more!

Answers, insights, and commentary on:

  • Interpreting, “Must there be a Superman? / There is.”
  • Superhero retirement
  • Seven Stages of Romantic Relationships
  • Lois & Clark Early Stages and Wake-Up Call
  • Why no onscreen honeymoon? / Batman is BvS protagonist
  • Superman & the World’s Wake-Up Call
  • Insecurity absent commitment (no superheroes norms yet)
  • Loneliness epidemic
  • Who is Superman for?
  • Superman: friend of the forgotten; a valid interpretation
  • Superman as common cultural touchstone enables impact
  • The Second Mountain / Benefits of Commitment
  • Family (marriage), Calling (vocation, Faith (philosophy), and Local Community
  • Why BvS included Nairomi not just the BZE
  • Clark Kent: Man of Commitments
  • Why MOS is structured to show Clark’s heroism early
  • Crisis of Faith: “Superman was never real. / No one stays good in this world.”
  • Local action and many more topics!

Enjoy Independence Day with others… accept that invitation or extend one!
